The Panther was the best all-round German tank of the war and although conceived as a medium tank, at 45 tons and with frontal armour over 100mm thick and a high velocity KwK 42 L70 gun, it was more than a match for any Allied tank.
In games of Bolt Action the Panther is a medium tank with the Reinforced Front Armour rule, is armed with a super-heavy anti-tank gun, and can be included in Armoured Platoons.
